Virtual Symposium on Molecular Solar Thermal Systems 2021
Molecular SOlar Thermal Energy Systems (MOST) rely on molecules having the ability to capture solar energy. After conversion via photo-induced reaction into e.g. high-energy isomers, the energy can be stored long-term. The energy can be released as heat on demand after the influence of specific triggers (light, heat, or by a catalyst). Through the years different photoswitchable molecular systems have been studied for possible MOST applications.
Our symposium aims to create a platform for sharing knowledge and research experience on the library of MOST systems and technological applications. Through highly active and lively exchange new horizons, ideas, collaborations, and networking will be reached, elaborated, stimulated, and promoted. We are looking forward to interesting invited and contributed lectures by leading experts in the field. Further, students get the chance to present their recent work and research by short poster presentations with the chance to receive a poster prize sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
